a. Android (SMS-Based Processing)

On Android devices, FinNote may request permission to read SMS messages strictly for the purpose of detecting and extracting financial transaction information.

  • We only process messages that appear to be related to financial transactions
  • Personal or unrelated messages are ignored
  • All processing is performed locally on your device

b. iOS (Email/Gmail-Based Sync)

On iOS devices, FinNote uses secure Gmail/Email integration to fetch transaction-related emails.

  • Access is granted via secure OAuth authentication
  • We only read relevant transaction-related emails
  • We do not store your email credentials
  • Data processing is limited strictly to app functionality

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data solely to:

  • Identify financial transactions
  • Organize transaction history
  • Provide insights and summaries
  • Enable export features (Excel/PDF)

We do NOT use your data for:

  • Advertising
  • Profiling
  • Selling to third parties

3. Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored locally on your device
  • We do not maintain centralized servers for storing user financial data
  • We implement encryption and secure storage practices
  • No sensitive data is transmitted externally without user action

4. Data Sharing

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data
  • Share your data with third parties
  • Use third-party analytics that access your financial data

Data may only be shared:

  • When you explicitly export or share it

5. Permissions Used

Android:

  • SMS Permission: Used to detect financial transactions from bank messages

iOS:

  • Email Access: Used for fetching transaction-related emails via secure authentication

Permissions are used strictly for core app functionality.

6. User Control

You have full control over your data:

  • You can delete all stored data at any time
  • You can revoke permissions from device settings
  • You can disconnect Gmail/email access anytime
  • Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

7. Third-Party Services

FinNote may use secure third-party services only for:

  • Authentication (e.g., Google OAuth)

These services follow their own privacy policies.

8. Children’s Privacy

FinNote is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
